Preparations for Morocco’s game against Ghana on Monday are being stalled by multiple Covid-19 infections among the team and other health issues that may lower the Lions’ chances of scoring a win, said Head coach of the Morocco national team Vahid Halilhodzic.
In a press conference held Sunday, Halilhodzic said key players Ryan Mayi, Ayoub Al Kaabi and Mounir El Haddadi have been absent from training sessions, adding his team is vexed with numerous Covid-19 infections and other injuries.
“Like other teams participating in the CAN, the Moroccan team suffers from health problems. We have to deal with the situation, and keep focusing on tomorrow’s game,” Halilhodzic was quoted saying in the press briefing by Hessport.
The 33rd edition of the competition began today and will last until February 6 in Cameroon with the participation of Morocco, part of group C, alongside Ghana, Comoros, and Gabon.
