Queen Elizabeth II spent Wednesday night at a hospital while undergoing preliminary investigations, according to a Buckingham Palace spokesperson, CNN reported.
The 95-year-old UK Queen entered the hospital on Wednesday and returned to Windsor Castle on Thursday, the spokesperson added.
Her hospitalization this week is believed to be the first time she has stayed overnight in a hospital since 2013, when she was suffering symptoms of gastroenteritis.
This time, before being admitted to the hospital, she had reportedly been advised to cut back on drinking, had canceled a trip, and had been seen using a walking cane for the first time in years, according to ABC news.
The only sure information on the cause of her stay at the hospital is that it was not COVID-19 related.
For her part, the Queen has suggested she remains young at heart.
Queen Elizabeth II is still expected to attend the COP26 climate conference, taking place in Glasgow, Scotland, starting October 31 to November 12.
