A total of 7,432 new cases over the past day raised the overall tally in the continent to 8.15 million.

Africa’s daily figures have been on a consistent downward trend over the past three days, starting at 16,932 cases on Saturday and dropping to 11,965 on Sunday.

An additional 175 Covid-19 related deaths were recorded throughout the continent over the past day, raising the death toll to 206,432, while the number of recoveries stands close to 7.5 million.

Africa continues to tail the rest of the world in terms of vaccination, as a little over 3 percent of the continents’ population has been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, the Africa CDC said.
