Newly appointed head of Government Aziz Akhannouch began an immediate process of withdrawal from all management within the family holding company, he indicated in a statement.
Akhannouch had already suspended all professional or commercial activity during his first term as minister, including participation in management and administration of private companies in the family group, the same source adds.
The RNI leader decided on Monday to completely withdraw from all activities, including those related exclusively to the acquisition of shares and the management of transferred values, “despite the absence of any legal impediment.”
“I have decided to abandon all management activities in the private sector, despite the law allowing this, to devote myself fully to the new responsibilities assigned to me by His Majesty King Mohammed VI,” Akhannouch stated.
King Mohammed VI appointed Akhannouch as head of government on Friday after his party won the September 8 elections by majority.
Coalition talks are already underway as Akhannouch met today with the head of the Authenticity and Modernity Party Abdellatif Ouahbi.
The National Rally of Independents promised to double the public health budget over the next 5 years, and create 100,000 jobs to boost the economy after the COVID-19 pandemic.
