Morocco’s Minister Delegate Mohcine Jazouli and Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs David J Francis inaugurated today the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Rabat.
The inauguration comes a day after Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita met with Francis as part of his visit to the North African country.
In a joint press conference, Bourita spoke about the strengthening of relations between the two countries in recent years, stating that the decision to open a Sierra Leone embassy in Rabat is a “qualitative leap” in relations between the two African nations.
Bourita also announced the decision to prepare a joint commission and the opening of a Moroccan diplomatic representation in Freetown, along with the organization of a business forum.
Francis reiterated Bourita’s statement on relations between Sierra Leone and Morocco, adding that his country will also open a Consulate General in the city of Dakhla next week.
