German club RB Leipzig is considering activating its purchase option for Moroccan international midfielder Naël Aynaoui, who is currently on loan from Italian side AS Roma, after being impressed by his performances.
According to Sky Sport Germany, Leipzig is planning to make two loan deals permanent in the coming months, with a combined value of around €50 million. The other player is German midfielder Brajan Gruda, who joined on loan from English club Brighton & Hove Albion.
The German club has reportedly earmarked €25 million to secure the services of the 25-year-old Moroccan, whose performances have convinced the coaching staff and sporting management of the value of retaining him beyond the current season.
Aynaoui has made the most of his loan opportunity, establishing himself as one of the players Leipzig wants to include in its sporting plans for the coming seasons.
The club’s plans come as it seeks to strengthen its squad and retain players who have made an impact, amid a difficult start to its Bundesliga campaign. Leipzig currently sits seventh in the standings and is looking to improve its position and return to contention for European competition qualification.
Aynaoui remains under contract with Roma until the summer of 2030, while his loan spell at Leipzig is due to end at the conclusion of the current season.
The Moroccan international has made 12 appearances for Leipzig across all competitions so far, recording one assist.
