Moroccan Head of government Fatima Zahra Mansouri attended the opening plenary session of the third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow on Thursday, representing King Mohammed VI at the gathering of African leaders and senior officials.
The Moroccan delegation also includes Lotfi Bouchaara, Morocco’s ambassador to Russia, and Mohamed Methqal, ambassador and director-general of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI).
The plenary session opened Thursday morning as participating countries continued discussions on expanding cooperation with Moscow in trade, investment, energy and other sectors.
Mansouri arrived in the Russian capital on Wednesday and attended an official Kremlin reception hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin for summit participants.
The October 28–29 gathering follows previous Russia-Africa summits held in Sochi in 2019 and St. Petersburg in 2023.
The summit is expected to conclude with discussions on future cooperation priorities between Russia and African countries.
