Hespress signed a cooperation agreement with Russia’s Rossiya Segodnya news agency in Moscow on Monday, aimed at expanding content sharing, professional exchanges and joint media projects between the two organizations.
The agreement was signed during the Russia-Africa Media Forum by Hespress Editor-in-Chief Abderrahim El Asri, representing the company’s director general, and Vasily Pushkov, Rossiya Segodnya’s director of international cooperation.
Under the agreement, Hespress will gain access to Russian agency news content in Arabic and English, while Rossiya Segodnya will be able to consult Hespress reporting published in Arabic, French and English.
The partnership also provides for professional assistance to journalists working in either country, joint media activities and potential training programs for journalists and technical staff.
Speaking after the signing, El Asri said the agreement reflected Hespress’ efforts to expand its international partnerships and exchange professional expertise with foreign media organizations.
The forum’s opening day also featured discussions on cooperation between Russian and African news outlets, artificial intelligence and the spread of misinformation.
