Moroccan police arrested three suspects in Marrakech on Sunday, including a 15-year-old minor, over alleged involvement in armed robbery, arson and the attempted murder of a taxi driver.
The arrests followed a complaint filed Wednesday by a victim who said two individuals lured him through an unauthorized ride-hailing application before threatening him with knives and stealing his motorcycle and personal belongings.
Investigators identified and arrested the two principal suspects before detaining the minor over his alleged involvement.
Further investigations linked the suspects to a separate attack in Saada, a rural area outside Marrakech, where a taxi driver was allegedly abducted and locked inside the trunk of his vehicle.
According to preliminary findings, the suspects stole the taxi and attempted to kill the driver by setting the vehicle on fire while he remained trapped inside.
All three suspects are under judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor.
