A mining worker who went missing Friday after being swept away by floodwaters in Zagora province was found dead Saturday morning by search and rescue teams in Tata province.
The worker was driving a mining company vehicle in the Bleida area when heavy thunderstorms caused a sudden rise in Oued Ait Ahmane, near Douar Ait Ahmane, sweeping him away.
Local authorities, Royal Gendarmerie and Civil Protection teams, joined by local volunteers and the victim’s colleagues, launched a search despite difficult weather and terrain. His body was found this morning in Foum Zguid, Tata Province.
