Prosecutors in El Jadida said preliminary findings from an investigation into a viral hit-and-run video found no evidence that the crash was linked to an electoral dispute or an attempt to target a candidate.
The public prosecutor at the El Jadida Court of First Instance said the inquiry was opened after social media posts and online reports circulated claims that the driver had deliberately targeted a candidate.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the initial investigation found those claims to be unfounded.
Authorities said the case concerns a traffic accident followed by a hit-and-run offense and is not connected to any election-related conflict.
The investigation remains open to establish the full circumstances of the incident and determine any legal consequences based on the final findings.
