Morocco is set to return to Greenwich Mean Time on Sunday, September 20, by setting clocks back one hour at 2:00 AM, according to a government press release.
The government announced the change on June 25, saying the return to GMT at the end of summer was intended to address concerns raised by the additional hour and respond to public demands.
Morocco had maintained GMT+1 for most of the year since 2018, switching temporarily to GMT during Ramadan.
The government’s decision marks a broader departure from that arrangement rather than the temporary Ramadan adjustment used in previous years.
