Moroccan video game companies can receive up to MAD 1 million for prototypes and MAD 3 million for pilot production under an innovation program running through 2028.
The gaming subprogram forms part of the Industry and Trade Ministry’s fourth call for projects under the Innovation Support Fund. It can support up to 20 projects annually within a MAD 50 million budget.
Prototype grants cover up to 70% of eligible project costs. Funding for pilot industrialization covers up to 30%, helping companies move products from development toward market-ready production.
Applications for the 2026 round close on October 15, while eligible spending can be counted from January 1. Projects will be assessed as applications arrive, subject to the annual budget.
Eligible applicants include gaming micro, small and medium-sized companies whose pre-tax revenue did not exceed MAD 200 million during the previous two years. High-growth startups may also apply if they have a strategic partnership with a large company incorporated under Moroccan law.
The program follows a November 2025 agreement that opened the fund to gaming companies. It involves the economy, industry and culture ministries, Maroc PME and employers’ federation CGEM, and supports Morocco’s plan to develop a regional video game industry hub.
