Police in Marrakech have arrested an 18-year-old man on Wednesday following suspected involvement in a violent theft that led to the death of a woman.
The suspect has allegedly targeted the woman while she was riding a motorcycle with her son, reportedly snatched her bag, causing her to fall from the motorcycle and be struck by a car. The woman died from her injuries following the incident.
Police investigations later led to the identification and arrest of the suspect, and the seizure of the motorcycle used during the theft.
The suspect has been placed in police custody as part of a judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor.
Authorities are working to establish the full circumstances and motives behind the incident. Investigations are also continuing to identify and arrest the driver of the car that struck the victim, who is expected to be questioned as part of the case.
