Throne Day Celebrated in Several European Capitals

Moroccan embassies in several European capitals, including Zagreb, Warsaw, Belgrade, Prague, and Sofia, hosted distinguished receptions to celebrate the 27th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors.

The events brought together prominent political, economic, and cultural figures, ambassadors and diplomats, representatives of civil society, and members of the Moroccan diaspora.

In Zagreb, Morocco’s ambassador to Croatia, Nour El Houda Marrakchi, highlighted the profound transformations achieved by the Kingdom under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, emphasizing the country’s accomplishments in strategic sectors including the automotive and aviation industries, renewable energy, green hydrogen, food security, social protection, and digital transformation.

She also referred to Morocco’s preparations for co-hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup, underscoring the Kingdom’s growing role as a reliable and credible partner committed to peace, stability, and international cooperation based on mutual respect and shared development.

For her part, Morana Bušelić, an official at Croatia’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, reaffirmed her country’s commitment to further strengthening its partnership with Morocco, praising the Kingdom’s constructive role in promoting stability, dialogue, and cooperation at both the regional and international levels.

The reception featured the screening of an institutional film showcasing Morocco’s major achievements in the economic, social, industrial, and infrastructure sectors, illustrating the Kingdom’s development momentum under the leadership of HM the King.

In Warsaw, the reception, held in a festive and convivial atmosphere, was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Artur Harazim.

Morocco’s Deputy Head of Mission in Poland, Laila Boulejiouch, said the celebration of the 27th Throne Day goes far beyond a ceremonial event, embodying the sacred bond of allegiance and unity, as well as the deep communion between the Throne and the Moroccan people.

She noted that since ascending the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors, His Majesty King Mohammed VI has provided Morocco with an ambitious national development vision, transforming the Kingdom into a major regional economic hub and a model of stability in Africa and the Mediterranean region.

The official also praised the excellent relations between Rabat and Warsaw, built on a solid partnership, mutual trust, reciprocal interests, and shared commitments to peace, regional security, international law, sovereignty, and the territorial integrity of states.

In Belgrade, Morocco’s ambassador to Serbia, Omar Amghar, hosted a prestigious reception attended by senior Serbian officials, including Justice Minister Nenad Vujić and Sports Minister Zoran Garjic, along with numerous distinguished guests.

During the event, he highlighted that Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, has launched a series of major strategic development initiatives, strengthening its position as an economic and industrial leader through the expansion of its automotive, aviation, agrifood, and pharmaceutical industrial ecosystems while enhancing its attractiveness for investment and implementing major infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

Alongside this momentum, Morocco has continued implementing major reforms in healthcare, education, human development, and digital transformation, reflecting its commitment to improving citizens’ quality of life, the ambassador added.

This progress has strengthened Morocco’s international standing and reinforced its position in the economic, diplomatic, tourism, and sports sectors, demonstrating the Kingdom’s ability to successfully carry out large-scale projects and consolidate its role as a strategic partner and a key player on the African continent, the diplomat said.

On the international stage, Morocco continues, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to pursue a balanced foreign policy founded on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, non-interference in internal affairs, the peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue, and responsible engagement in addressing global challenges, he added.

In Prague, prominent figures, including government ministers, attended the reception hosted by the Moroccan Embassy to mark Throne Day. The event was highlighted by the presentation of the Wissam Al Alaoui order at the rank of Grand Officer, bestowed by His Majesty the King upon former Czech ambassador to Morocco Ladislav Skerik.

On this occasion, Morocco’s ambassador to the Czech Republic, Hanane Saadi, underscored the significant achievements accomplished by the Kingdom under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, stressing that the Sovereign’s strategic vision has enabled Morocco to strengthen its position as an emerging nation enjoying political stability and diversified, open economic growth despite regional and international crises.

The diplomat also highlighted the growing momentum in Moroccan-Czech relations, particularly following the official visit to Rabat last March by Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka.

Speaking at the reception, Macinka said he had personally witnessed during that visit Morocco’s remarkable progress, adding that few nations have successfully combined economic development with the preservation of their authenticity and traditions.

For his part, Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček praised Morocco’s industrial and economic progress achieved in line with the strategic vision of His Majesty the King, noting that Morocco is the Czech Republic’s leading economic partner and one of its most important partners outside the European Union.

In Sofia, the Moroccan Embassy hosted a grand reception attended notably by Crown Prince Boris of Bulgaria, Prince of Tarnovo and Duke in Saxony.

In her address, Morocco’s ambassador to Bulgaria and North Macedonia, Zakia El Midaoui, highlighted the Kingdom’s major achievements under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI in economic development, infrastructure, energy transition, social protection, human development, and digital transformation.

Emphasizing Morocco’s role as a strategic gateway linking Europe, Africa, and the Arab world, the diplomat also underscored the major initiatives launched by the Sovereign in support of African integration, as well as the growing international support for the Moroccan Sahara, reflected in United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797.

On the bilateral front, El Midaoui welcomed the particularly positive momentum in Moroccan-Bulgarian cooperation and invited Bulgarian partners to seize the investment opportunities offered by the Kingdom, especially in light of Morocco’s co-hosting of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

At a reception held in Astana, Morocco’s ambassador to Kazakhstan, Mohamed Rachid Maaninou, highlighted the Kingdom’s major achievements in the political, economic, social, infrastructure, and environmental fields, noting that under the Royal Vision, Morocco continues to pursue inclusive development, South-South cooperation, and the promotion of peace, thereby consolidating its position as a credible and influential partner at the African, Arab, and international levels.

He also emphasized the positive momentum in Morocco-Kazakhstan relations, driven by intensified political dialogue, high-level exchanges, and the gradual diversification of areas of cooperation.

Representing the Kazakh government, Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Issagaliyev reaffirmed his government’s commitment to further strengthening the Moroccan-Kazakh partnership across all areas of mutual interest.
