Morocco’s Minister Delegate for the Budget and President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, is set to join the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) ahead of the country’s legislative elections scheduled for September 23.
Sources told Hespress that Lekjaa reached an agreement with PAM following a meeting earlier this month with the party’s national coordinator, Fatima-Zahra Mansouri.
The understanding reportedly includes his accession to the party, a seat on its Political Bureau, and its endorsement of his candidacy in Berkane’s parliamentary elections.
According to the same sources, the move comes as PAM intensifies preparations for its National Council meeting on July 25, a key gathering expected to finalize parts of the party’s electoral program and approve organizational decisions ahead of the elections, including strengthening its leadership with nationally prominent figures.
The sources added that the upcoming National Council meeting could serve as the platform to formally announce Lekjaa’s entry into the party, either through his presentation as a member of the Political Bureau or in a separate announcement issued alongside the meeting.
