Morocco on Monday launched eTrade.ma, the country’s first national business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce platform, as part of a broader strategy to accelerate exports, expand digital trade, and improve the international competitiveness of Moroccan companies.
The platform, developed through a partnership between the State Secretariat for Foreign Trade and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), is designed to connect Moroccan exporters with international buyers while helping businesses overcome barriers to accessing foreign markets.
The launch ceremony was chaired by Omar Hejira, secretary of state for foreign trade, alongside Abdelhadi Sohib, general director of UM6P, and attended by dozens of Moroccan exporters.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, eTrade.ma is primarily intended to support Morocco’s micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), which often face challenges related to limited international visibility and complex export procedures.

The platform offers digital tools aimed at simplifying export prospecting and providing companies with faster and more direct access to international buyers.
The initiative forms part of Morocco’s 2025-2027 National Foreign Trade Program, which seeks to strengthen the country’s export performance in line with royal directives to enhance the competitiveness of the national economy.
Two strategic partnership agreements were signed during the launch to support the platform’s implementation.
The first, involving the State Secretariat for Foreign Trade, PortNet S.A., the OCP Group Foundation, and UM6P, provides for the integration of eTrade.ma with Morocco’s national single-window system for trade procedures.
The second agreement, signed with Barid Al-Maghrib and Chronopost International Maroc, incorporates logistics services into the platform to facilitate shipping and delivery for exporters.
The government said the initiative is part of Morocco’s efforts to position itself as a regional hub for digital trade at a time when the global B2B e-commerce market is projected to exceed $105 trillion by 2033.
Authorities aim to onboard approximately 1,000 Moroccan exporters by 2027, with the objective of generating more than 15 billion dirhams (about $1.6 billion) in additional export revenue.
The platform will initially operate as a pilot project before being gradually rolled out to exporters across the country.
