Atlas Lion Ismael Saibari made history on Tuesday by becoming the first Moroccan player to score in three consecutive World Cup matches.
The PSV Eindhoven midfielder reached the milestone after scoring Morocco’s second goal in first-half stoppage time against Haiti in the team’s final Group C fixture.
Saibari began his scoring run in Morocco’s opening match of the tournament, finding the net in a 1-1 draw against Brazil. He then delivered the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Scotland in the second group-stage match.
With his strike against Haiti, Saibari extended his remarkable streak to three consecutive World Cup appearances, setting a new record in the history of the Atlas Lions.
