A Moroccan civic group is preparing to launch a free digital platform allowing residents to report urban problems and track whether authorities resolve them.
The Tayr platform, developed by the Digital Citizen Association, covers issues including waste accumulation, broken street lighting, damaged roads and sidewalks, and water and sanitation problems.
Users can photograph an issue, mark its location on a map and select the relevant category. The report is then directed to the responsible authority, while the person who submitted it can follow its status through the platform.
Tayr adds an accountability requirement: a complaint cannot be marked as resolved until a photograph documenting the completed intervention has been uploaded.
Residents will not need to create an account to participate. An anonymous reporting option, called “Tayr Khafi,” allows complaints to be submitted without identifying the user.
The platform is currently undergoing testing and is expected to launch officially in the coming days.
