Morocco’s Interior Ministry on Monday published the results of the latest voter-list review and opened a seven-day period for registration appeals ahead of the September 23 legislative election.
Administrative commissions chaired by judges examined new registration applications, requests to transfer voters between electoral districts and names subject to removal from the rolls between June 15 and June 21, the ministry said.
The commissions also corrected clerical errors in the general electoral lists.
Summary tables containing their decisions were deposited on Monday at local administrative offices and the relevant municipal and district services across the country.
Citizens may inspect the documents during official working hours from June 22 through June 28.
The ministry said voters can also consult their personal registration information during the same period through the online portal dedicated to Morocco’s general electoral lists.
People whose registration or transfer applications were rejected may challenge the decision before the competent court. Appeals may also be filed by voters who believe their names were removed from the lists without a lawful basis.
The deadline for submitting challenges is June 28, matching the period during which the commission decisions remain available for public inspection.
Administrative commissions will then examine the outcome of the process and formally approve the final version of the electoral lists on July 10, according to the ministry.
The updated rolls will be used for the September election to renew the membership of Morocco’s House of Representatives.
