On the eve of their opening match in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Gabon, the Atlas Lions held their final training session on Thursday at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat ahead of the match against Gabon.
The session was spent on final preparations, in an atmosphere that was both focused and relaxed.
On the field, the ball was the focus of the session.
The group showed great commitment throughout the session. Smiles and banter among the players accompanied the training, which took place in a positive atmosphere, with a particular focus on the upcoming first official match of this campaign.
This final session was also an opportunity to assess how well the young players called up to the national team have integrated.
Working alongside the veterans, the newcomers are gradually finding their footing and participating fully in various drills.
Veteran players, in particular, play an important role in mentoring them, both on the field and during downtime.
The team is at full strength, with the exception of Achraf Hakimi and Ismaël Saibari, who are both suspended for this first fixture. Their absence pose a challenge for the coaching staff, who nevertheless have several options within the squad to fill the void.
