Morocco rose to 22nd place worldwide for international tourist arrivals in 2025 after receiving 19.8 million visitors, according to the latest World Tourism Barometer by UN Tourism.

The ranking marks a gain of three places in one year and 12 places compared with 2019, when Morocco ranked 34th globally.

Morocco also improved its position in international tourism receipts, moving from 32nd to 31st place in 2025, with revenues reaching $14.8 billion.

The Ministry of Tourism said the results reflect the transformation of the sector and the impact of the tourism roadmap launched by the government in 2023. The strategy aims to strengthen air connectivity, tourism offerings, accommodation capacity, service quality and workforce skills.

The momentum has continued into 2026. In the first quarter, Morocco recorded nearly 7 percent growth in tourist arrivals, more than three times the global average of 2 percent, according to UN Tourism.

Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor said the figures confirm the relevance of King Mohammed VI’s vision and support continued efforts to position Morocco among the world’s major tourism destinations by 2030.
