Morocco’s agriculture and digital transition ministries signed a memorandum of understanding at the International Agriculture Show in Meknes to expand the use of artificial intelligence and data tools in farming.
The agreement integrates the agriculture ministry into the “JAZARI ROOT” initiative, aimed at developing and testing AI applications in agriculture and improving data use for decision-making, officials said.
Digital transition minister Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni said the move is part of a broader push to align agriculture with national strategies including “Digital Morocco 2030” and “Green Generation 2020–2030.”
“Future agriculture will rely on artificial intelligence and data to strengthen productivity and support farmers,” she said.
The deal also covers training, technical capacity building and cooperation with public and private partners.
The signing took place during SIAM, Morocco’s largest agriculture event, which serves as a platform for innovation and sector partnerships.
