The Paris Police Prefecture has officially banned the 40th edition of the “Annual Encounter of Muslims of France,” which was scheduled to take place at the Paris-Le Bourget exhibition center from April 3 to 6.
The decision, signed by Paris Police Chief Patrice For, cites security assessments indicating a ‘high terrorist threat’ targeting the Muslim community in France. The prefecture’s statement also referenced a recently foiled attack on a Bank of America branch in Paris on March 28, 2026, highlighting the increasing internal security threats.
Authorities justified the ban by citing the current heightened alert level under the VIGIPIRATE plan, maintained at the “emergency for attack” level since March 2024. The decision noted that the large-scale nature of the event would require security resources beyond current capacity and could strain public order.
