Police in Casablanca arrested a 32-year-old man on Saturday on suspicion of involvement in sports-related violence that resulted in property damage and injuries, authorities said.

The arrest was carried out by officers from the Ain Sebaa–Hay Mohammadi security district following reports of clashes between groups of football supporters. The individuals allegedly exchanged blows using bladed weapons and threw stones, damaging several parked cars and injuring a passerby.

Police said the incident, which was captured on video, prompted an immediate response that helped restore order and led to the suspect’s arrest shortly after the events. A search conducted during the operation resulted in the seizure of two bladed weapons in the suspect’s possession.

The suspect has been placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine the full circumstances and motives behind the incident.

Authorities said efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend other individuals involved in the violence.
