Morocco created 109,656 new businesses in 2025, according to the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property, with legal entities accounting for 78,622 of the total and sole proprietorships making up 31,034.
Commerce remained the leading sector, representing 35.7 percent of new businesses, followed by construction and real estate at 19.65 percent, various services at 17.63 percent, transport at 7.79 percent and industry at 7.01 percent. Hotels and restaurants accounted for 5.71 percent, ahead of information and communication technologies at 2.89 percent, financial activities at 1.86 percent and agriculture and fisheries at 1.78 percent.
By region, Casablanca Settat led with 33,959 new businesses, ahead of Tangier Tetouan Al Hoceima with 15,286 and Rabat Sale Kenitra with 13,983. Single member limited liability companies represented 64.8 percent of new creations, while standard limited liability companies accounted for 34.4 percent.
