Morocco registered 60,908 new businesses during the first seven months of 2026, according to the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property, or OMPIC.
The new businesses included 45,898 legal entities and 15,010 individual businesses, OMPIC said in a statement.
The single-member limited liability company, or SARL AU, remained the most common legal structure among newly registered companies, accounting for 65% of registrations. Standard limited liability companies, or SARLs, represented 33.9%.
Casablanca-Settat led business creation among legal entities, accounting for 39.3% of registrations, followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra at 14.5%, Marrakech-Safi at 12.3% and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima at 10.8%. Together, the four regions accounted for 76.9% of newly registered legal entities.
Commerce was the largest sector, representing 27.22% of new legal entities, followed by construction and real estate activities at 25.28%, various services at 20.03%, transport at 7.63% and industry at 6.3%.
For individual businesses, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima ranked first with 20.6% of registrations, followed by Casablanca-Settat at 13.2% and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra at 10.7%.
OMPIC also issued 77,883 commercial-name certificates, known as negative certificates, between January and July 2026.
