FC Barcelona is reportedly considering signing Moroccan international Abdessamad Ezzalzouli to strengthen its attacking line next season, Spanish sports daily Marca reported Tuesday.
While the Catalan club’s priority remains activating the purchase option for Marcus Rashford of Manchester United, estimated at €30 million, Barcelona’s sporting management is closely monitoring the situation of the Atlas Lion as a strategic alternative, the same source noted.
Ezzalzouli’s profile could also present a financial advantage for the Barça side, which still retains 20% of the player’s rights while he currently plays for Real Betis, potentially making a transfer more affordable than that of Rashford, the newspaper added.
Trained at La Masia, the Catalan club’s youth academy, the Moroccan winger is enjoying a notable season with the Andalusian side. In 18 appearances, he has recorded five goals and five assists, while demonstrating strong technical efficiency with 23 successful dribbles.
His versatility and familiarity with Barcelona’s environment place Ezzalzouli among the main options being studied by the club’s technical management ahead of the next summer transfer window, the media outlet concluded.
