Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita held a phone call Friday with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, during which the two officials reaffirmed the strength of ties between Morocco and Russia.

According to a statement from Morocco’s Foreign Ministry, the ministers expressed satisfaction with the “quality of friendship and cooperation” linking the two countries and confirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening and deepening the partnership.

The call comes as the two countries mark the 10th anniversary of their enhanced strategic partnership, signed in March 2016 in Moscow during a visit by King Mohammed VI.

During their conversation, Bourita and Lavrov also exchanged views on several current regional and international issues. They emphasized the importance of continued consultation and closer coordination in support of international peace and stability, the ministry said.
