UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber met Friday with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita on the sidelines of the 81st U.N. General Assembly, with the two officials discussing bilateral cooperation, particularly in energy and industry.
The two officials reviewed longstanding ties between the United Arab Emirates and Morocco and discussed ways to expand cooperation in areas of shared priority, according to the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology.
The talks focused in particular on the energy sector, including renewable energy, as well as ongoing cooperation under the UAE-led Integrative Industrial Partnership initiative, which aims to support sustainable economic development.
Bourita also held separate meetings Friday in New York with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.
His talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Lebanese Foreign Minister and Emigrants Youssef Rajji covered bilateral relations, cooperation in several fields and ways to strengthen ties.
The officials also discussed regional and international issues of common interest and ways to coordinate positions within international organizations, according to Morocco’s Foreign Ministry.
