The Moroccan passport ranked 62nd worldwide in the latest global index released by Henley & Partners, allowing its holders to enter 72 countries visa-free, the firm said.

The ranking marks the strongest position for the Moroccan passport in two decades, improving from 69th last year and 71st the year before.

Morocco was ranked the highest in North Africa, ahead of Tunisia (66th, 67 destinations), Mauritania (75th), Algeria(76th), Egypt (81st) and Libya (91st).

Among members of the Arab League, the United Arab Emirates topped the list, ranking third globally alongside Sweden, with visa-free access to 186 destinations. It was followed by Qatar (46th) and Kuwait (47th), while Saudi Arabia and Bahrain placed 52nd and 53rd, respectively.

Globally, Singapore retained the top spot, with its passport granting access to 192 countries without a visa. At the bottom of the ranking was Afghanistan, whose passport allows visa-free entry to just 24 destinations, alongside Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Pakistan.

The Henley Passport Index is published annually and is considered one of the most authoritative global rankings of travel freedom, as it is based primarily on data from the International Air Transport Association.
