Egypt coach Hossam Hassan praised the quality of Morocco’s sports infrastructure and organization on Friday in Agadir, saying that they offer optimum conditions for players to fully showcase their potential during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON-2025).
“Facilities and conditions are ideal, which makes every face-off all the more intense,” he said at a pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s quarterfinal against Côte d’Ivoire at Agadir’s Grand Stade.
The Egyptian coach reiterated that respect for the opponent remains paramount. “We have enormous respect for Côte d’Ivoire, the defending champions. But we are approaching this match with confidence, determination, and in the best possible conditions,” he said.
For his part, Egyptian international Mahmoud Hassan Trézéguet emphasized the demands of African football at this level. “The big teams remain strong, but key games are always decided by details like focus, commitment, and intensity,” he said.
“We respect Côte d’Ivoire, but we believe in our work and in our team. Under these conditions, it’s up to us to deliver on the pitch,” he said.
Egypt will face Ivory Coast in the quarterfinals of the competition, with the match scheduled for Saturday at Grand Stade of Agadir. The winner of this fixture will advance to the final four and continue its quest for the continental title.
