Egypt’s ambassador to Morocco praised the reception given to the Egyptian national football team upon its arrival in the country ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, according to a statement released by the Egyptian Embassy.

Ahmed Nehad Abdel Latif, Egypt’s ambassador to Rabat, commended Moroccan authorities for the facilities and assistance provided to the team delegation when it arrived late Wednesday at Agadir Al Massira Airport. He said procedures were completed smoothly and under favorable conditions, the embassy said.

The Egyptian team will be based at a hotel in Taghazout, near Agadir, for the duration of the tournament. The same area is also hosting the national teams of Cameroon, Gabon and Mozambique. Other participating teams are staying in hotels across Rabat, Marrakesh, Fez, Tangier and Casablanca.

The Africa Cup of Nations is set to kick off later this week, with matches hosted in six Moroccan cities across nine stadiums. Rabat alone will contribute four venues: Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Moulay Hassan Stadium, the City Stadium and the Olympic Stadium.
