Several Turkish economic players and investors welcomed in Istanbul on Friday Morocco’s openness and its capacity to attract foreign investment during a working session with Morocco’s ambassador to Türkiye, Mohamed Ali Lazraq, emphasizing that the Kingdom has consolidated its position as a preferred destination for international investors in recent years.

This meeting, held on the sidelines of the Morocco-Türkiye Business and Investment Forum, attended by the President of the Türkiye-Morocco Business Council, Zeynep Bodur Okyay, alongside several major Turkish investors, most of whom are already established in Morocco, provided an opportunity to examine ways of strengthening bilateral economic partnerships and identify opportunities in high value-added sectors.

In this regard, Turkish investors have welcomed Morocco’s openness, making it a destination of choice for Turkish companies thanks to its political stability, infrastructure development, and constantly improving business climate.

They also highlighted Morocco’s role as a strategic gateway to African markets, a geographical position that offers promising prospects for Turkish companies wishing to expand their presence beyond their immediate region.

On this occasion, Lazraq reaffirmed Morocco’s willingness to support Turkish investors and facilitate their access to the Moroccan market, noting that the economic momentum between the two countries reflects a shared willingness to elevate the bilateral partnership to new heights.

He also expressed the availability of the Moroccan Embassy in Ankara to provide all the explanations and support necessary for the success of Turkish projects and their integration into the Moroccan market.

In a statement to MAP, Bodur Okyay said that the two countries share several points of convergence, including young populations, a common will for industrial development, and strong wind and solar energy potential, making energy transition an area of promising cooperation for both countries.

She highlighted the growing interest of Turkish investors in Morocco in recent years, noting the success of numerous Turkish projects in the Kingdom, particularly in the textile, paper, and hygiene products industries, as well as the desire of major automotive players to expand their presence in Morocco.

Okyay emphasized that Türkiye has long been a key supplier to global automotive groups, and that the transfer of part of the production lines to Morocco has encouraged several Turkish companies to join the Moroccan industrial ecosystem.

She added that the textile and aerospace sectors also offer promising prospects, with Morocco having advanced aerospace industries supported by training, while a growing number of Turkish companies specializing in aerospace components are showing interest in investing in the Kingdom.
