The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has decided to temporarily close a private clinic in Ouarzazate due to its failure to comply with approved architectural plans and declared expansions, as well as its failure to regularize its internal management procedures.

The decision followed reports issued by the ministry’s Inspectorate, which found multiple irregularities at the clinic, including non-compliance with technical standards and requirements necessary to ensure proper health conditions for patient care.

Inspectors also detected the unauthorized employment of public-sector doctors, a clear violation of existing laws and regulations.

The closure forms part of the ministry’s broader efforts to ensure that private clinics respect established health and technical standards and to safeguard patient health and safety.

The ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to laws and regulations, respecting patients’ rights, and providing high-quality health services. It stressed that necessary measures will be taken to prevent similar violations in the future.

The ministry’s action comes within the framework of an ongoing nationwide campaign to monitor private clinics and ensure compliance with health and technical standards.

Regarding the same clinic, the Ouarzazate Court of First Instance had previously sentenced the clinic’s owner (a physician) to six months in prison and a fine of 1,000 dirhams.

He was prosecuted by the Public Prosecutor on charges of involuntary manslaughter due to negligence and failure to follow regulations, as well as issuing a certificate containing false information and using it.
