Morocco counted 35.5 million internet users by the end of 2025, representing 92.2% of the total population, according to DataReportal 2026 Digital Report.
This comes as Morocco continues to expand its broadband coverage and mobile network usage across the country.
The study reported 57.1 million active cellular mobile connections in late 2025, equivalent to 148% of the population, as many Moroccans use more than one SIM card or device.
It said that several users maintain separate mobile connections for personal and work purposes, with the rise of eSIMs making it easier to manage multiple lines.
Nearly 87.7% of these mobile connections were classified as broadband, linking through 3G, 4G, or 5G networks, according to the same source.
Yet, some of these subscriptions only cover voice and SMS services, meaning not all mobile users have internet access.
Citing proprietary analysis conducted by Kepios, the report found 22.8 million active social media user identities in October 2025, accounting for 59.1% of the total population.
Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X continue to dominate online engagement, especially among younger generations who increasingly rely on social networks for news, entertainment, and other activities.
Kepios’s analysis also showed that social media user identities in Morocco increased by 1.7 million (+7.8%) between late 2024 and the end of 2025, with 22.7 million users aged 18 and above, equivalent to 84.5% of the adult population.
According to Kepios’ analysis, Morocco added about 749 thousand new internet users between October 2024 and October 2025.
Still, roughly 2.99 million people, or 7.8% of the population, remained offline.
