Attijariwafa Bank warns against fake AI-generated investment scam using CEO’s image
Friday 7 November 2025 - 22:21

Morocco’s Attijariwafa Bank said on Monday that a video circulating online falsely uses the image, voice and name of its chief executive officer to promote a fraudulent investment scheme. The group said the video, designed to look like a national news report, directs viewers to a fake platform claiming to be affiliated with the bank and promising unrealistic profits.

In a statement, the lender denied any involvement in the operation and stressed that it does not operate or endorse any investment platform. It said the use of its CEO’s likeness and institutional branding without authorization constitutes an attack on the bank’s identity and reputation.

The company said it would take legal action against those responsible and urged the public to remain vigilant amid a rise in AI-generated scams targeting major brands.
