Morocco’s youth-led “Gen Z” protest movement has begun to ripple through the country’s cultural scene, forcing organizers to cancel or postpone major concerts scheduled in the coming weeks.

A planned show featuring Lebanese singer Adam, alongside Mohammad Chaker and Abeer Nehme, was scrapped after consultations between promoters concluded the current climate was not suitable for staging a large event, according to organizers.

Tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled date, with refunds offered.

The wave of postponements also hit other high-profile acts, including rapper Don Bigg, rock band Hoba Hoba Spirit, and maestro Arslan, whose concert blending heritage and contemporary music has been delayed.

Organizers said the decisions, while difficult, were driven by concerns for public safety and artist security.

The cancellations come as Gen Z protests entered their sixth day across several Moroccan cities, with demonstrators demanding urgent reforms in education, health care and anti-corruption efforts.
