Morocco has stepped up measures to improve access to public services, accelerate digital transformation and support investment by Moroccans residing abroad (MRE), while consolidating their role in national development, Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said in a written response to parliament.

Bourita stressed that these efforts align with royal directives, notably King Mohammed VI’s 2022 Revolution of the King and the People speech, which set new priorities for diaspora policy.

Initiatives include simplifying administrative procedures, reinforcing national identity, and mobilizing expatriate skills and capital.

The minister cited institutional mechanisms such as a ministerial committee on MRE chaired by the prime minister, consular reforms, multilingual guides, call centers and online platforms including idarati.ma and consulat.ma.

He highlighted the digitization of civil registries to allow remote issuance of birth certificates and tools like the Mohafadati service for property title monitoring.
