A Dutch-Moroccan family is urgently appealing for public assistance in finding their missing son, Ouadoud Rabbaj, who disappeared in Tangier more than a week ago while visiting Morocco with his parents.
According to his sister, Wafae Rabbaj, Ouadoud has been missing since around 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, after leaving the family’s accommodation in Tangier on his own. The family, who had traveled from the Netherlands for a vacation, has not seen or heard from him since.
Wafae told Hespress English that they believe he may have become disoriented and no longer knows how to find his way home.
She said Ouadoud left without any personal belongings except for his mobile phone, which the family believes has since run out of battery because he did not have a charger with him.

The family says Ouadoud is particularly vulnerable. He lives with a psychiatric condition that can cause episodes of psychosis if he is not taking his medication, leaving him confused and unable to think clearly. Wafae also said he struggles with addiction, increasing the family’s concern for his safety while he remains missing.
She added that Ouadoud can be recognized by a permanent limp and a visibly crooked wrist, injuries resulting from an accident a few years ago. He speaks Dutch, English, and limited Darija.
Since his disappearance, relatives, friends, and volunteers have carried out extensive searches across Tangier, but no confirmed sightings or information have led to his location.
“Our family, friends, and many volunteers have been searching day and night for over a week now,” Wafae said. “Sadly, despite all these efforts, we still have not found him or received any information about his whereabouts.”
The family is urging anyone who may have seen Ouadoud or has information that could help locate him to come forward and contact the local authorities or reach out to the family directly.
“We hope that sharing his story will help reach more people and increase the chances of someone recognizing him or providing information that could help bring him home safely,” Wafae said.
