Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita spoke by phone Tuesday with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, in a call aimed at strengthening political dialogue and long-standing ties between the two countries, Morocco’s Foreign Ministry said.
The two ministers praised progress in bilateral relations, citing the “deep strategic partnership” established during King Mohammed VI’s visit to Moscow in 2016. They agreed to build on that framework to expand cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
The talks also reviewed upcoming bilateral milestones, including preparations for the eighth session of the joint Moroccan-Russian commission.
Bourita and Lavrov discussed regional and international developments and committed to maintaining political dialogue “in a spirit of mutual respect and constructive engagement,” the ministry said.
