The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) inaugurated a new multi-sports hall in Al Hoceima on Wednesday, part of efforts to expand social and sports services for members of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Social Works of National Security Staff.
The facility, located at the Regional Security headquarters, is equipped with fitness machines, martial arts training spaces, changing rooms, and sanitary facilities.
The project stems from a partnership agreement signed in April between the Foundation and the Agency for the Promotion and Development of the North (APDN). The agreement focuses on improving infrastructure and providing social and sports amenities for police personnel.
Speaking at the inauguration, General Controller Taoufik Sitri, director of the Foundation, said the new hall meets international standards and will be available to Foundation members and Al Hoceima’s police staff.
He noted that this initiative strengthens the range of social services available to police, in line with directives from the Director General of National Security and Director General of Territorial Surveillance.
Sitri added that the project reflects recognition of police officers’ contributions and underscores the value placed on human capital within the National Security, describing it as the institution’s “greatest wealth.”
Over the past few years, the DGSN has launched a broad development plan to modernize police infrastructure, including upgrading buildings and sports facilities to provide integrated spaces for professional, intellectual, and physical development.
