The Public Prosecutor at the Casablanca Court of Appeal issued a statement Tuesday clarifying details surrounding the widely circulated case of Sion Chaim Harim Broch Assidon, following growing speculation on social media.
According to the official statement, two individuals approached police on August 11, 2025, reporting that their employer, Assidon, had been unreachable and absent from work. Upon visiting his residence, they discovered his car parked in front but were unable to reach him by phone or gain access to the house.
Police responded to the scene and, after finding the door locked, entered the home with the help of a specialist. Inside the garden, they found a ladder, saw, shovel, and pruning shears, along with cut grass and trimmed branches, indicating recent gardening activity.
Inside the ground floor of the home, Assidon was found unconscious on a couch but still alive and breathing. He was immediately transferred to a hospital for medical care.
A search of the home revealed personal belongings, including his phone, a pair of slippers with grass stains, laptop computers, keys, and neatly arranged books and items, with no signs of forced entry or disturbance.
Surveillance footage from a security camera located at the end of the alley approximately 300 meters away confirmed that on August 9 at 10:36 a.m., Assidon arrived alone, parked his car, and entered the house wearing the same clothes he was later found in. The footage showed no further activity involving the car until police arrived on August 11.
Investigators collected biological samples and fingerprints from various tools and home surfaces. Forensic results revealed only Assidon’s fingerprints, with no signs of outside interference.
Authorities also interviewed a construction worker from a neighboring house, who stated he saw Assidon trimming trees from a ladder around 2 p.m. on Saturday and left him still working at around 5 p.m. The neighbor who owns the adjacent house confirmed this, noting he had previously asked Assidon to help with gardening work, which was scheduled for that Saturday.
The Prosecutor’s Office emphasized that investigations are ongoing, and appropriate legal actions will follow upon their conclusion.
