Man found slain in suspected domestic homicide near Sefrou; wife in custody

 A man in his 40s was found dead Monday morning in the town of Bhalil, near Sefrou, in what authorities are investigating as a suspected domestic homicide.

According to local Hespress AR sources, the man’s body was discovered in his home in the Rkiba neighborhood with visible signs of a violent assault. He had reportedly been fatally wounded by a sharp object, with injuries consistent with a slashing or stabbing attack.

Gendarmerie officers responded to the scene after being alerted to the presence of the body inside the victim’s marital residence. The body was transferred to the forensic medicine department for autopsy and further investigation.

The victim was a Moroccan national who had been living and working in France and frequently returned to his hometown of Sefrou, where he resided with his wife and four children.

Initial investigations led law enforcement to detain the victim’s wife, approximately 30 years old, as the primary suspect in the killing. She was taken into custody by Bhalil’s Royal Gendarmerie pending further questioning.

Sources indicated that the suspect was later transported to Mohammed V Hospital in Sefrou after suffering a sudden health episode believed to be linked to the aftermath of the crime.

Authorities have launched a formal investigation to determine the motive and circumstances behind the killing.
