Tourism in Al Haouz is showing strong recovery, with overnight stays in classified accommodation establishments reaching 114,688 by the end of February, up 37 percent from 83,558 a year earlier.
According to the Moroccan Tourism Observatory, the occupancy rate in Al Haouz hotels climbed to 72 percent in the first two months of 2025, compared to just 46 percent during the same period in 2024.
In February alone, overnight stays rose 28 percent to 59,679, with occupancy reaching 75 percent compared to 52 percent in the previous year.
Nationally, classified establishments recorded over 4.2 million overnight stays by the end of February 2025, marking a 16 percent increase year on year. This growth is driven by a 6 percent rise in domestic tourism and a 20 percent surge in international arrivals.
The figures confirm a strong rebound for the sector, especially in regions like Al Haouz that were slower to recover in previous cycles.
