More than 7,000 students began Spain’s University Entrance Exams (PAU) this week, formerly known as selectividad, across centers affiliated with the University of Granada (UGR), including seven located in Morocco.
The exams offer a key opportunity for students from Spanish schools in Morocco aiming to pursue higher education in Spain.
According to UGR’s official statement, the exams are held across 34 centers in Granada, the Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla, and Morocco, in coordination with Spain’s Ministry of Education and the Spanish Embassy’s Education Department in Morocco.
The initiative reflects the depth of educational ties between the two countries.
The students come from diverse backgrounds, Spanish nationals living in Morocco, dual citizens, and Moroccan students enrolled in the Spanish system.
The most popular subjects include Spanish Language and Literature II (chosen by 5,739 candidates) and Applied Mathematics for Social Sciences II.
Morocco’s participation highlights its growing role as an educational bridge between Europe and North Africa, reinforcing academic mobility and regional cooperation.
