The Casablanca city council introduced stricter guidelines for companies seeking permits to install public advertisements, emphasizing the need to respect public order, morals, and national values.
According to a draft of the new specifications, set to be voted on during the council’s May session this Wednesday, companies must avoid displaying any images or language deemed offensive to public decency, traditions, or ethical standards.
Advertisements for harmful products, such as tobacco or alcohol, are also prohibited.
The city will also deny permits to unlicensed or fake companies, including ride-hailing apps and pyramid or network marketing firms.
