OCP Nutricrops has joined forces with French agricultural research body ARVALIS, grain industry group Intercéréales, and the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) to advance sustainable plant nutrition and soil management in response to climate change. The partnership was formalized during the 17th International Agricultural Exhibition in Meknes.
The new scientific and technical cooperation agreement builds upon a memorandum of understanding signed in October 2024, and aims to develop agronomic solutions that reconcile crop performance with environmental responsibility.
The alliance will undertake a three-year research program (2025–2028) focusing on:

Field trials in both controlled and real farming conditions in France

Development of personalized fertilization plans based on scientific data

Creation of educational content to help farmers adopt the results
Grounded in the “4Rs” principle—right nutrient, right dose, right time, right place—the approach targets precision agriculture to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve soil fertility, and enhance the nutritional quality of crops, while maintaining productivity.
The partners emphasized the central role of soil health in ensuring sustainable agriculture and climate resilience. The program seeks to phase out inappropriate fertilization methods by promoting scientifically grounded alternatives that are both effective and economically viable for farmers.
The results will be rolled out on the ground through demonstration sites and training activities to facilitate large-scale adoption.
This partnership reflects OCP Nutricrops’ international strategy and its commitment to building a shared scientific foundation between Europe and Africa. It aims to support food sovereignty, agricultural competitiveness, and climate adaptation across regions.
