The National Airports Office has announced the launch of the construction of a new airport terminal at Casablanca Mohammed V Airport, designed to be a major “HUB” as part of the “Airports 2030” strategy.
The project, with a capacity of 20 million passengers annually, is expected to be completed in 2029, with an investment of 15 billion dirhams.
The new terminal will be a technical and architectural marvel, reflecting a complete transformation of Morocco’s airport infrastructure. Inspired by the Atlantic Ocean waves, the terminal’s design is shaped like the letter “H” and will meet international standards, ensuring quick baggage handling and efficient use of telescopic corridors.
It will also support the expected growth of air traffic, especially in line with the development program of Royal Air Maroc.
The terminal will be linked to the high-speed train line (LGV) connecting Kenitra and Marrakech, providing fast and easy transport to major cities. The project, like major international airports such as Paris Charles de Gaulle and London Heathrow, aims to improve multi-modal mobility and enhance the travel experience.
A new 3,700-meter runway and modern infrastructure will be built, along with parking areas, a control tower, and various amenities, including green spaces, commercial zones, a duty-free shop, VIP lounges, and a hotel with panoramic views.
The project reflects Morocco’s ambition to meet the challenges of hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup and to position the country as a global trade hub.
