The Public Prosecutor at the Criminal Court of First Instance in Casablanca has taken action against five individuals involved in a series of criminal offenses, including defamation, blackmail, and threats.
Four of the suspects have been charged and detained under arrest, while a minor girl involved in the case has been referred to a juvenile judge, who placed her in a child protection center.
This decision follows the spread of false information on social media regarding the investigation into these individuals.
The suspects face several charges, including insulting a constitutional body, defamation, spreading false claims to damage individuals’ privacy, and making criminal threats.
One of the suspects is also facing additional charges for insulting a lawyer while performing his duties. The case was sparked by a complaint from a woman who was subjected to defamation and threats through the use of a phone number.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that the suspects were involved in illegal activities such as spreading defamatory statements, blackmailing victims, and gaining financial benefits from these crimes.
According to the statement from the Casablanca Criminal Court, the investigation, which was entrusted to the National Judicial Police Brigade, uncovered that the minor girl was responsible for acquiring and providing the SIM cards used in these criminal acts.
The main suspect, who is related to the minor, is currently at large and believed to be outside of Morocco.
The Public Prosecutor’s office emphasized that the investigation is still ongoing, with additional individuals under detention.
These suspects are believed to be involved in the commission of these crimes, and their roles in the operation are still being investigated.
